MRG History

The founders of the Mapping Resource Group (MRG) were also co-founders of Photogrammetric Data Services in 1985, a photogrammetric service firm that successfully developed into an international organization with seven US offices, one in Canada and one in Britain prior to being sold in 1999.

Mapping Resources Group founded in 2001 has a different corporate structure to accommodate the State Licensing of photogrammetry but the same philosophy of service, quality and client satisfaction.

The personnel within the three MRG production companies, Southern Resource Mapping, Virginia Resource Mapping and Carolina Resource Mapping have many years of experience in working together to provide effective project management and developing innovative solutions to meet their client’s individual needs.

Land & Mapping Services joined Mapping Resource Group in December of 2004 expanding our services to clients in Pennsylvania and the Northeast. The two L&MS offices provide a significant increase in our photogrammetric production capacity, both softcopy and analytical along with additional expertise in Ground Based Scanning, GPS and Hydrographic surveys.

The addition of a Zeiss TOP camera to Flight Resource Group combined with the recently acquired GPS expertise provides the MRG clients the option of either conventional ground control or Airborne Global Positioning control for their projects. This is a significant benefit to our clients with large projects or projects in the Caribbean and Central America.

MRG continues to refine and expand its services, we are currently evaluating a low-level approach to LIDAR data collection having flown a densely vegetated twenty square mile area on the South Carolina coast.

The Mapping Resource Group will continue to add additional services and resources in the coming months to meet the needs of our clients.
